The Cosmos officially released the primary kit they'll wear next season in their 2026 USL League One debut. A launch party last night at the retail store Pelé Soccer in New York City’s Times Square saw the introduction of the club's new kit with a familiar green color palette.
The event featured current Cosmos signings, as well as team legend and MLS Season Pass analyst Shep Messing.

Return of a classic
When the Cosmos' third iteration takes the field at historic Hinchcliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ, next March, they'll do so – of course – in green.
According to the team, the dark green base, with alternating bars with a lighter shade of green, is a way to honor the Cosmos history. "The result is a jersey that honors where the Cosmos have been and boldly declares where they are going," said a statement released by the club. "Green leads the way, just as it always has."
The design is rounded out with a pure white neck collar, with piping that run towards the underarms on both sides. The cuffs, which are more pronounced on the long-sleeve version, are also white. The whole thing is capped off with four white squares on each shoulder, the signature design feature of Capelli jerseys.
“Ask any generation of fan who watched the Cosmos play. When you turn on the TV, see historic clips or look at the iconic photos, the Cosmos in green are unmistakable,” Cosmos CEO Erik Stover said in the team's press release. “There have been so many historic moments in this color and we are excited to continue that story.”

Of note, Thursday’s announcement did not show kits with a front-of-shirt sponsor, nor did they have names or numbers on the back.
According to the team press release, the jersey is engineered with CS Cool allover mesh for breathability, durability and moisture-wicking performance.
The 2026 Cosmos primary jersey is available for purchase in limited quantities at Pelé Soccer in NYC’s Times Square and online at shop.nycosmos.com.

Capelli In, INARIA Out
With this new kit, NYC based sportswear and footwear company Capelli Sport becomes the 10th company to produce Cosmos kits in the team's history.
2026 – Capelli
2017-21 – INARIA SOCCER
2016 – Under Armour
2013-15 – Nike
2011-12 – Umbro
1985 – Ennerre
1984 – Adidas
1982-83 – Admiral
1980-81 – Ellesse
1979 – Admiral
1975-78 – Umbro
1971-75 – Denken Soccer LTD
The kit was created in partnership with Capelli Sport and Mark Jenkinson from design studio BastionFC.
They replace Canadian brand INARIA SOCCER, which produced kits for the team from 2017 to 2021. That stretch included the team's final season in the North American Soccer League and their lone half-season in the National Independent Soccer Association.
The new design looks similar to the Cosmos look following their departure from the NASL 2.0. While playing in the second-division league, INARIA's take on the primary kit featured a mix of blue and dark green, with a white collar. There was also a tendency to have a repeating green, yellow, and blue pattern in places like the ends of the sleeves.
However, once the team left the NASL, playing its reserve team in the NPSL before going pro again in NISA, the kit become more green focused. The 2018 kit worn by New York Cosmos B in the National Premier Soccer League also featured a two tone green kit with vertical bars.
