New York City FC Academy product Evan Lim was named to the United States U-18 roster for a January assessment camp for U-20 players.
The 17-year-old midfielder, who had 19 appearances with NYCFC II in 2025, has three international youth caps, one for the U-17s in 2025 and two with the U-16s in 2024.
Lim usually plays a more defensive role in the midfield, slotting in for the Baby Blues after Jonny Shore ascended to the First Team last season. But he can play a more advanced role, and scored two goals for NYCFC II last season. One of those came late in a 5-2 win over Red Bull New York II, winners of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup.

The camp will take place January 10-16 at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, AZ. It will feature 48 players, with 16 each selected for the U-18, U-19, and U-20 teams. According to US Soccer, the camp is "held outside of a FIFA international window," and will allow "the Men’s Youth National Team technical staff to give broader evaluation to each player pool while also providing integrated positional training between each age group."
