Loradana Paletta, the 14-year-old who is the only girl to play with the New York City FC’s U-15 Academy team, was named to the United States women’s national team U-17 roster for the upcoming training camp in Spain.
USWNT U-17 head coach Ciara Crinion will bring 20 players for the January 6-15 residency in Spain. The team will play friendlies against Germany on Sunday, January 11, in Albir, and Denmark on Wednesday, January 14, in La Nucia.

Paletta will be one of the two youngest players at the camp. The midfielder has been making headlines recently – she was the subject of a profile in AM New York and in the New York Post. In July, LOTTO signed Paletta to a deal that made her the company’s first name, image, and likeness (NIL) partnership with a US amateur.
It’s easy to see why LOTTO signed Paletta. As you can see from the clip above, 14-year-old midfielder is as technical as she is aggressive, somebod who can handle Academy boys her age — and girls one or two years older.

Paletta has appeared for USWNT youth teams in the past, but she didn’t get a call-up for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup last October. The United States was knocked out by North Korea 1-0 in the Semifinals of that tournament, then went on to beat England 3-0 in the Third Place Match. North Korea won the title after drawing Spain 1-1 in the final, then triumphing in penalties 4-3.
