New York City FC player ratings are determined by you, the Hudson River Blue readers: Here are the NYCFC player ratings from the streak-ending 2-0 win over Charlotte FC at Yankee Stadium on Matchday 30.

Another game, another set of strong numbers.

The Starting XI average rating of 7.5 only trails the 7.6 for the 1-0 win over FC Cincinnati on August 23 o Matchday 23. You handed just sub-7 score to a starter with the 6.9 for Hannes Wolf — never mind that the FotMob algorithm gave him a 7.7. The mood is light after New York City comprehensively defeated the most in-form team in the league this season.

It should come as no surprise that Alonso Martínez earned a team-best eighth Player of the Match for his penalty brace. True, a place has an 85% chance of converting from the spot, but we look at the genius of the two successful attempts by Martínez, and how he found a way to send superstar goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina the wrong way both times.

At the other end of the field, Matt Freese had no trouble handling the penalty attempt from Wilfried Zaha — Mr. "Penalties Are My Thing" is living up to his tagline, and you gave the Iceman an 8.9 for his penalty save and clean sheet. You handed him a season-best 8.9, topping the 8.7 you gave him for his five-save performance on March 22 against Columbus Crew on to preserve a 0-0 draw in Matchday 5.

Freese might be an obvious choice for the Player Spotlight, but instead, we turn it on Tayvon Gray, who put in an impressive shift at right-back in his 77 minutes on the field and earned a season-high 7.2 rating. Yes, he gave away a penalty, but he more than made up for it by helping to create a defensive forcefield around the NYCFC penalty box that locked out the normally lethal Charlotte attack.

Finally, a shoutout to Strahinja Tanasijević, whose 7.1 is his best rating of the season to date.
