New York City FC player ratings are determined by Hudson River Blue readers: Here are your NYCFC player ratings after the frustrating 0-0 draw with DC United at Audi Field.
A scoreless game saw a wide range of ratings from readers, from Hannes Wolf’s season-low 3.9 to Matt Freese’s game-best 8.5. While Wolf’s rating is his worst of the year, Thiago Martin’s 7.5 season-high came from his involvement in the clean sheet.
New York City enjoyed most of the chances and was on the front foot for most of the game. However, the offense failed to score, largely because of DC United goalkeeper Luis Barraza's sensational game. NYCFC created plenty of chances but lacked the finishing touch.
New York City should have won this game against a starless DC after Christian Benteke left just 20 minutes into the match, but the defense helped salvage the draw. Of the starters, the defense averaged a rating of 7.1, and the rest of the squad averaged a rating of 5.1. Alarms are ringing for the attack.
