New York City FC player ratings are determined by you, the Hudson River Blue readers: Here are the NYCFC player ratings from the dramatic 4-3 road win over FC Dallas to close out the team's four-match road trip.
It was an end-to-end matchup unlike any away fixture New York City FC has played in 2025, but the Pigeons returned to the Big Apple with three more points and confidence in front of goal with Leagues Cup play on the horizon.
With hat-trick heroics from Costa Rican talisman Alonso Martínez following a first MLS goal for midfielder Jonny Shore, New York City played to a dramatic 4-3 victory away at FC Dallas. It was just the club's third away win of the season so far, and the Pigeons didn't make it easy for themselves. The defense, usually seen as the shining light of the squad, struggled early doors, forcing the inconsistent attack to match Dallas numerous times.

As a result, your Player of the Match, by a unanimous margin, was none other than El Clínico. With just one goal since returning from Gold Cup duty with Costa Rica, Alonso Martínez was due for a breakout performance, and he delivered when New York City needed him most.
Head Coach Pascal Jansen (7.8) received plaudits for his management of the game, with his second-half substitutions proving effective in securing the win for New York City. Referee Jon Freeman (5.7), however, didn't rate as strongly, but managed the game well in his own right.
Beyond a couple of notable exceptions, your ratings were nearly in line with those from FotMob. Glad we all watched the same game.
