New York City FC lost to Philadelphia Union on Matchday 14 by the score of 1-3: Here are your NYCFC highlights.
NYCFC took the lead in the 30th minute after Gabriel Pereira scored a beautifully-worked goal, but NYCFC allowed the Union to take control of the game with a pair of first-half stoppage-time goals scored within two minutes of each other. Add to that a 53rd-minute penalty converted by the Union, and you have NYCFC’s first home defeat of the season.
To their credit, the NYCFC attack looked dynamic and dangerous for the first time in weeks. They could have scored one or two more goals against a standard-issue MLS goalkeeper, but they had the misfortune of facing Andre Blake. The Philadelphia shotstopper always keeps the Union in the game.
