Only one New York City FC match on national TV in 2026?

LAFC and Seattle Sounders get 6 games each on Fox this year while Inter Miami gets just 2. NYCFC is one of a handful of teams to appear in just one game, and Red Bull New York won't appear in any national broadcasts.

Fox Sports just announced the 34 matches from the 2026 Major League Soccer season that the network will air on a family of channels that includes Fox, FS1, and FOX Deportes, and the distribution across all 30 teams is remarkably uneven. (You'll find the full schedule at the end of this post.)

LAFC and Seattle Sounders lead the league with six games each, and another handful of teams will feature in four or five games that will be aired nationally. But league juggernaut Inter Miami will be on Fox just twice, and New York City FC will play on national TV just once in 2026.

Just as notable, five clubs won't have a single game aired by Fox. That list includes Chicago Fire FC, Red Bull New York, and all three Canadian teams in CF Montréal, Toronto FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Apple TV remains the primary outlet and broadcast partner of MLS. It's where you'll find all 34 regular-season matches for all clubs, including NYCFC, and Apple TV will also broadcast the games that will be aired on Fox. Additionally, Apple TV will broadcast all games of this summer's Leagues Cup and all MLS Cup Playoffs matches in the late fall.

But the imbalanced schedule on Fox is curious. It makes sense to put the spotlight on clubs with competitive teams and large fanbases, such as LAFC, LA Galaxy, Portland, and Seattle. But giving Miami just two games, the same number allotted to Real Salt Lake or Sporting Kansas City, is, as they say, a choice.

The same can be said of the decision to air just one game between both teams in the New York Metro Area, the largest television market in the country. New York City made the cut, and fans of the team can tune into FS1 to watch the team play in a midweek matchup with Charlotte FC Wednesday, May 13 at Bank of America Stadium. Red Bull didn't, and won't appear on national television in 2026.
