Snowmageddon begins on a bright note, as New York City FC drew LA Galaxy in the 2026 season opener. Now it's time for you to rate the NYCFC players.
The game got off to a rocky start for New York City, as Galaxy striker Jão Klaus scored just 85 seconds into the match to give the home side a 1-0 lead. NYCFC quickly recovered their composure and were the better team for the rest of the match, but a No 9-sized hole in the lineup left the attack looking lost in front of goal.

New York City's fortunes changed in the 66th minute, when Galaxy defender Emiro Garcés took down Nico Fernández Mercau in the box. It was penalty for Nico, which he converted, and a second yellow for Garcés, which reduced the Galaxy to 10 players for the rest of the match. New York City were on the front foot through regulation and seven minutes of stoppage time, but they couldn't find that finishing touch and score the game-winner.
