When news broke that Sporting Director David Lee will leave New York City FC to become President of Soccer Operations and General Manager at Sporting Kansas City, the staff here at Hudson River Blue took to Slack to discuss his top signings — and his biggest flops.

After all, his legacy is complex. Lee presided over the club's biggest success when they won the title in 2021, and over their thoroughly disappointing 2023 season.

Now we want you to get in on the conversation, and voice your opinion in this Reader Poll. In the Google Form below, you have the opportunity to tell us who you think belongs on the list of Lee's best and worst signings. (Having trouble with the embedded form? You'll find a link to it here.) Anybody can fill it out, and HRB members can add to the discussion by leaving a comment at the end of the this post.

The Reader Poll will close on Monday, October 6 — Lee's final day with NYCFC. We will publish the results on Tuesday, October 7.
