Reader Survey: How are we doing?

We want you to tell us what you think of Hudson River Blue after we relaunched the website last year, and what you'd like to see us do in the future.

Dear Reader,

Last year, when we relaunched the Hudson River Blue website, we did it with your support. I mean that literally – HRB not only underwent a visual update, we eliminated ads and became a reader-supported publication. Now that we have 18 months of the new-look HRB under our belts, I want to check in to see what you think of our changes, and what we can do to improve.

The last time we posted a reader survey, HRB had a much smaller profile. We now have expanded coverage of New York City FC, and regular coverage of Gotham FC, Brooklyn FC, and other teams in the Tri-State Area — including the newly-resurrected New York Cosmos. We now send out newsletters such as Michael Battista's Open Cup Digest, and launched a weekly HRB Podcast. We covered the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup – and were the first to break the news that President Donald Trump kept the original Club World Cup trophy for himself (you can see it in the Oval Office to this day) – and are already looking at how to best cover the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Which brings me to the reader survey posted below. I want your unvarnished opinions about the work we're doing: I want to understand what you like, what you don't, and what you didn't even know was on the site. There are plenty of places to leave feedback – almost every question has an "other" option where you can tell us what's on your mind – and I hope you take advantage of them to share your honest opinions with us.

Thank you for reading HRB, for supporting what we do, and for taking the time to complete the reader survey.

Thank you,

Oliver Strand
Publisher, Hudson River Blue
