Will NYCFC play in the Bronx?

The Borough President is making a play for the stadium.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz
From MLSSoccer.com:

Even after the May announcement of Major League Soccer’s 20th team, New York City FC, nearly two years remain before the expansion club begins play in MLS. For now, the club’s plans for a home stadium, which are still undetermined, continue to be the biggest talking point.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz is making a play for the Bronx to be the permanent home of NYCFC. And why not? The Yankees are there.

From the letter (PDF): “The Bronx would be the perfect home for a new professional soccer franchise. I am ready to work with Major League Soccer to make this a reality, and I look forward to beginning this conversation.”

Diaz also heaps a little scorn on the efforts to build a stadium in Queens: “It would appear that there is little enthusiasm for world class soccer in Queens.”
