New York City FC started strong, scored first, and let their lead slip away as they drew DC United 1-1 at Audi Field.

NYCFC dominated the first half, and looked the better team. They couldn’t find a goal from open play, but Santiago Rodríguez converted a penalty to score his ninth goal of the season, and New York City took that one-goal lead into the break. New York City continued to dominate possession, but DC grew into the game and looked dangerous in transition. Then United head coach Troy Lesesne made a key substitution, bringing on Theodore Ku-DiPietro. The 22-year-old attacker won a penalty which was converted by Christian Benteke for his 19th goal in league play this season.

The goal ended with the two teams even at one goal apiece. Now it’s time for you to rate the players.

• New York City earned a point on the road…
• …but they now have a seven-game winless streak in league play.
• Anybody else count two incorrect offsides called on New York City?

The ratings form will remain open until 11:59 pm on Sunday, September 15. Results will be published on the morning of Monday, September 16.

  1. Gave center ref a three, but really belongs on the ARs who missed as many as they got. I realize the offside call is hard to make, but these guys need to use their ears as much as their eyes on these.

    1. Yeah and actually the call that went our way – taking DC’s first goal off the board – I didn’t understand that call at all. It seemed so borderline and seemed to have nothing to do with the goal, was that truly offsides?
