Deb Kowalczyk

Deb Kowalczyk grew up playing rec league soccer on Long Island and never really stopped thinking about the game after her cleats got retired. She came to writing about women's soccer the way a lot of people do: frustrated that nobody else was covering it seriously enough, so she figured she might as well. Her focus sits firmly on the NWSL, the USWNT, and the grassroots pipeline that feeds both, with a particular soft spot for players grinding through the lower divisions trying to make a name for themselves.
