New York City FC returned to the Major League Soccer regular season with a satisfying 2-1 win over Nashville SC. With this result, NYCFC climb up to Eighth Place in the Eastern Conference with games in hand over other teams above the playoff line. Now it's time for you to rate the players.
Nashville end the night in Third Place in the East despite suffering their third consecutive loss. The visitors went up early when Jacob Shaffelburg scored in the 10th minute, but a goal by Andrés Perea evened it at 1-1 in the 40th minute. Almost immediately after, the game was delayed for 90 minutes because of thunderstorms in the area, and when play resumed NYCFC were the more dangerous team. Alonso Martínez scored the game-winner in the 77th minute when he buried a low Agustín Ojeda cross.
