The visitors went up early when Jacob Shaffelburg scored in the 10th minute, but a goal by Andrés Perea evened it at 1-1 in the 40th minute. Almost immediately after, the game was delayed for 90 minutes because of thunderstorms in the area, and when play resumed NYCFC were the more dangerous team. Alonso Martínez scored the game-winner in the 77th minute when he buried a low Agustín Ojeda cross.
