Ronald Matarrita (Costa Rica), Tony Taylor (Panama) receive October international calls

Way to go, Pretty Tone!

Seriously, give it up for Alejandro Antonio Taylor.

The California-born, Florida-raised 27 year old, who received twelve total caps for the USA Under-20s and Under-23s between 2009 and 2012, received his first-ever call-up to the Panama national team this week.

Both of Taylor’s parents come from Panamanian families.

Similarly pleasant — but not the least bit surprising — is the accompanying news that Costa Rica requires the services of left fullback Ronald Matarrita yet again. Matarrita scored in his last national team appearance September 6th against… hey, Panama! His Ticos will travel to Russia for a friendly date on October 9th. Panama is scheduled to take on Mexico at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois on October 11th.

How about a standing O for the good guys?
